What an amazing man. All of my memories of Uncle Eddie are of a caring, considerate person who was always welcoming.
ReplyDeleteOur summers in Angola were always memorable. He always had activities planned and made sure we were kept busy.
Our camping trips were always an adveture, especially the one to Kentucky when he was bitten by a bee and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.
He took me golfing on that trip and as we walked the course he talked about the history of the area we were camping in and the fact that the golf course was part of the homestead of Stephen Foster, the person who wrote the song "My Old Kentucky Home."
It was a trip I remember to this day.
When I was a bit older and working at Bethlehem Steel in the Bar Mill, Uncle Eddie always stopped buy to say hello or share his lunch.
